ROBERT KAYANJA From UGANDA

Wow! What a powerful service this morning at High Point Church. I've left greatly encouraged everytime ever since my family started attending but this week was extremely special. April Simons told a short story about how her father encouraged her in a fast-pitch softball game where she was pitching for the championship...

Great Story: Last inning of the game, April pitching with a two strike count, the batter was a power hitter, the outfield was told by the coach to move all the way back, her pitch would decide the game. Before she winds up, her father (John Osteen) stands up and yells from the stands, "You can do it April!". Strengthened by her father, she struck out the batter and her team won the championship.

I started crying. I'm a sucker for a good sports story. When I was a young teenager (13-14), my Papa (Grandfather) sat me down in his living room and told me I needed to listen to this preacher he was watching on T.V. Of course, it was John Osteen. Papa said that he was a good man and he preached the Word the way it should be preached. So, I listened to him. I listened the whole time growing up.

I'm 35 now. I never knew the story behind the story... Just a few months ago my Grandmother told me that Papa and John Osteen would eat breakfast together in Tulsa, OK years & years ago. My Papa passed away back in 2000 and John Osteen hasn't been with us for about as long. Good men. I miss them both. I suppose that may have been why a tear or two made it's way down my cheek this morning.

I'm proud of Pastor Gary & April. They preach the Word the way it should be preached. I know my Papa would have loved them too.

Robert Kayanja gave Pastor Gary a powerful word.
I want to share some insight about this but I probably shouldn't right now.
I'm going to let it stir it around in my spirit a little while longer. Maybe I can share it another time.
